The Way of Mindfulness Week 4 - Unworldly Vedana Meditation

by Vidyamala

To be fully present and fully heedful is the aim of the Buddhist life, but it’s not an easy thing to achieve, even for Buddhists! This series will help you to practise the Buddha's teaching of mindfulness effectively, using his original instruction from the Satipa??h?na Sutta.

If you live with pain (physical or emotional) and tend to push difficult experience away, this can be a good exercise to try out at your own pace. We lean gently into the arising of discomfort and open into a broader awareness that also includes other aspects of our experience. We'll spend time resting in a broad and open awareness, allowing everything to rise and fall like waves on the ocean – staying within a sense of flow and openness as everything comes into being and passes away moment by moment.

Vidyamala is the founder of the pioneering Breathworks mindfulness community helping people around the world with chronic pain and stress and offering training in this field.
