The Five Spiritual Faculties and the Milinda Pañha

by Taranita (2021)

Taranita delves further into the Five Spiritual Faculties by employing the Milinda Pañha, or Questions of Milinda. The text is a dialogue between the Buddhist sage Nāgasena, and the Indo-Greek king Menander I of Bactria (known as Milinda in Pali), who reigned in the 2nd century BC. The King asks questions about the Five Spiritual Faculties and Nāgasena responds employing numerous similes. Additionally Taranita discusses what may occur if the Spiritual Faculties are unbalanced.
