The Two Arrows

by Satyalila (2019)

Beginning with the Buddha's famous advice on dealing with suffering in the sutta on the 'two arrows' (the Salla sutta), Satyalila delves into the nuts and bolts of how we create and perpetuate the greater part of our own suffering, including a personal reflection on our gravitational pull towards blame, including self-blame. And how that creates more suffering.

The talk concludes with six final points from Vessantara including near enemies, guilt, heart-wish and heartbreak - and a poem.

This talk is part of the series Responding to the Burning World.
