Third talk in a series of ten given by Subhuti at Adhisthana during the retreat Transforming Ignorance into Wisdom between 15th to 22nd March 2019.
The Yogacara Abhidharma, with older roots, looks at the layers of views beneath crude and obvious expressions of view, right down to a substratum that we bring into life with us. The Jneyavarana, which could be interpreted as the ‘veil or obscuration of views’ is paralleled by and entwined with the klesavarana, the ‘veil of passions or mental defilements’. And both operate at deeper and deeper levels within the mind.
