What the World Needs - Looking Ahead 50 Years

by Vidyamala (2017)

Vidyamala is an Order Member and co-founder of Breathworks - a pioneering right-livelihood Social Enterprise offering secular mindfulness to people who live with chronic pain, illness and stress. Breathworks offers books, audio-visual materials, courses and teacher training in many countries around the world. The Breathworks Foundation, the charitable wing of Breathworks provides bursaries so as many people as possible can benefit from the gifts of mindfulness.

Now based in Ledbury, England Vidyamala combines her passions for Triratna and Breathworks.

She gave this talk at the 2017 International Retreat at Adhisthana that had the theme: 'What the World Needs - Looking Ahead 50 Years'. Vidyamala outlines her overarching vision for Breathworks, which includes ways secular mindfulness can serve as a gateway to the whole Dharma as offered in Triratna. Vidyamala mentions running a 'bridging retreat' - this will run at Adhisthana in August 2019 entitled 'The Bridge, the Path and the Goal: from Mindfulness to Buddhahood'.
