The fourth talk gives an account of a event of dramatic purpose in the Buddha's life. He has his first meeting with another human being; an arrogant Brahmin who he profoundly challenges by asserting that it is 'worth not birth' that determines spiritual and moral hierarchy. In doing this the Buddha shows the socially engaged element implicit in his teachings.
