Eine Einführung in den Dhammapada

Der Dhammapada ist eine der bekanntesten frühen Schriften des Buddhismus. In kurzen, eindringlichen Versen fasst er die Lehre des Buddha zusammen. Sehr direkt richten sich die Worte an den Leser: Du lachst, du vergnügst dich, Schau hin, wie diese Welt brennt, Du lebst so tief im Dunkel, Warum suchst du nicht nach dem Licht?

Im ersten Teil dieses Vortrags aus dem Jahr 2001 führt Kulanandi in den Dhammapada ein und beleuchtet die Entstehung der buddhistischen Schriften insgesamt. Danach nimmt sie die Mammutaufgabe auf sich, jedes der 26 Kapitel des Dhammapada kurz vorzustellen. Viele Leseproben aus dem Dhammapada vermitteln einen guten ersten Eindruck dieses wichtigen Werks.
